Bragging rights definitely now belong to Julie Dinius.
In a family with a rich track heritage, Dinius ended her career with more individual North Dakota Class B state track titles (seven) than the combined total (five) of her four older siblings. Dinius won the 300 hurdles and 100 Saturday and was named Class B senior girls track athlete of the year.
Justin Wayne Ridley, 26, is facing charges of felonious restraint and terrorizing, both Class C felonies. According to a court affidavit, Ridley handcuffed his mother at her home in Langdon, “so she wouldn’t go anywhere.”
Langdon is becoming a melting pot for American Legion baseball players.
The team’s 14-player roster includes only seven players from Langdon — Jace Roy, Nick Roy, Connor Braaten, Grant Ellingson, Kalton Agnes, Colter Pritchard and Wayne Borgen.

The senior outside hitter was one of the sparkplugs Saturday as Langdon won the North Dakota state Class B high school volleyball tournament for the second time in three years. Langdon swept Linton-H-M-B 25-21, 25-18, 25-14 in the championship match.
Two games into the match Thursday, New Salem-Almont’s team had a total of nine kills.
“That’s not going to get you anything here,” Holsteins coach Marlene Kautzman said. “We did start playing better in the third game.”
