Kennedy, Minn., woman sentenced in theft from friends
A Kennedy, Minn., woman charged with stealing more than $44,000 from her friend and employer will serve 30 days in jail. Miranda Sue Gustafson, 34, made an initial restitution payment of $30,000 before being sentenced for theft Tuesday in state District Court in Hallock, Minn., according to state’s attorney Roger Malm.

Grand Forks gets nearly 4 inches of snow; 8 inches falls in Lancaster, Minn.
Meteorologist Jim Kaiser said the agency’s Grand Forks office measured 3.9 inches of snow, right within the predicted margin of 3 to 5 inches.
The biggest amount of snowfall this winter occurred on Dec. 30, with 4.5 inches accumulating.
