Several weeks before she was fatally shot by a Golden Valley, Minn., police officer, Katherine Gordon -- a divorced grandmother from California reportedly suffering from depression -- told police in Edina, Minn., that the devil was talking to her and that she needed to be locked up to prevent her from harming herself or others.
The woman, from California, died of multiple gunshot wounds, according to the Hennepin County Medical Examiner Office. The office called the manner of death a homicide. No further information is currently available.

The woman, who was alone in the white Honda Civic, "was in possession of a handgun and was subsequently fatally shot by the officer," according to a news release from Golden Valley police. Her body fell between the Civic, which had California license plates, and the freeway median.
It's unclear if the woman fired her weapon.
Renville County officials are trying to raise $10,000 to post a billboard for a month along a Twin Cities freeway touting the rural lifestyle. Photographers have already taken pictures of elementary school students from Bird Island, Buffalo Lake and Stewart smiling and waving while standing on the main streets of their town.
