The Merrifield Road project includes a bridge over the Red River that would be higher than U.S. Highway 2’s Kennedy Bridge, which has had to be closed during floods.

65-year-old man dies in Interstate 29 crash in Fargo; woman, 62, injured
A 65-year-old man is dead after the van he was driving on Interstate 29 left the roadway and crashed into a bridge pillar at the 52nd Avenue South overpass this morning in Fargo, the North Dakota Highway Patrol said. The driver was pronounced dead at the scene. A 62-year-old female passenger was taken by ambulance to Essentia Health with injuries not believed to be life-threatening.
