Driven by frequent no-vacancy weekends, construction in Grand Forks’ hotel market has been hot for a few years, with no sign of cooling yet. But as new hotels open and newer ones break ground, will Grand Forks’ busy weekends make up for slower weekdays when there are more businesses vying for guests?
A complaint filed Friday in Ramsey County District Court charges 28-year-old Jermiah Marg, of Burnsville, with interfering with privacy. The couple called police after they found a recorder under the door of their room at the 340 Hotel in downtown St. Paul last December.
A fire at a Days Inn Hotel in downtown Rochester has forced a two-hour evacuation and caused an estimated $100,000 in damage. No injuries were reported. A Post-Bulletin of Rochester report says the fire today about 6:15 a.m. was sparked by an overheated fryer in the hotel's restaurant.
