Six years ago, Eric Marts was in Iraq. He had joined the National Guard and was deployed to Fallujah for 22 months. While on patrol outside Fallujah, he was hit by a roadside bomb that exploded. Marts survived, but the bomb fully blinded him.
The Environmental Protection Agency has completed a series of Clean Air Act listening sessions, but none came within several hundred miles of North Dakota, and the state’s junior senator is not pleased about it.

Congress won’t approve a new farm bill before the old one expires Sept. 30, Sen. Heidi Heitkamp, D-N.D., said today. “It seems clear to me that we will not be securing a new farm bill before the deadline,” Heitkamp said in a conference call with the news media.
