Jurors heard emotional testimony from Tammy Klein, the grandmother of Marsden’s son, who said an incident when Rylin Marsden was in her care may have contributed to his death.
Grygla, Minn., man facing charges in death of 4-month-old son The prosecution rested its case Monday in the murder trial of Damien Marsden following testimony from an expert witness that Marsden’s son did not die from injuries he suffered from falling off a bed. Dr. Arne Graff also testified that 4-month-old Rylin Marsden died of injuries following a non-accidental head trauma, which likely occurred just before he started showing symptoms on the afternoon of Aug. 2, 2009. A Karlstad, Minn., man fell asleep at the wheel and drove his Buick into a fence around a baseball field near Grygla, Minn., this morning, according to the State Patrol. Michael S. Lorenson, 51, was injured but his life was not threatened, the patrol said.
Dean Earl Wilkens, 59, was charged with three counts of aggravated sexual abuse for alleged incidents that occurred between Dec. 12, 2008, and Dec. 12, 2011. The Department of Justice said on the latter date, the abuse was reported to the FBI after the victim told a school counselor.
