Authorities continue to search for an Army staff sergeant from Fort Stewart who went missing while swimming off the coast of St. Simons Island. The soldier has been identified as Staff Sgt. Calvin J. Leblanc, from Minot. Military officials say Leblanc is a 30-year-old combat engineer assigned to the Third Infantry Division who has deployed three times.

Police heightened their state of alert throughout Israel Tuesday following bomb attacks on diplomats in India and Georgia. Officials were also trying to determine whether Israelis were the intended target of an Iranian man carrying explosives who blew his own legs off in Bangkok.
