The victim of a fatal fire in St. Paul has been identified
Officials say the body of 85-year-old Marion Louis Smith was found after firefighters responded to a kitchen fire at her home Monday afternoon.
A Grand Forks Fire Department investigation has determined that a cigarette started a house fire that killed a woman.
Teresa Numedahl fell asleep in bed with a cigarette which ignited her mattress early Feb. 25, Fire Marshal Bruce Hoeger said Monday.
Two bodies found Monday in the burned remains of a house west of Roseau, Minn., were said by neighbors to be those of an elderly couple who had lived there for decades. Officials haven't identified them yet or determined the cause of the fire, which is not considered suspicious, a sheriff's deputy said.
