The bump from 75 percent is the result of damage across the state exceeding a threshold of $107 million. The funding will be used to recover costs for public emergency measures, debris and levee removal and repair of publically owned infrastructure.
Minneapolis Mayor R.T. Rybak has seconded Gov. Mark Dayton's request for federal aid to individuals and businesses who suffered losses in the May 22 tornado in north Minneapolis. Rybak sent a letter to President Obama on Friday echoing Dayton's Wednesday request.
