One event just fed into the next on Saturday for West Fargo senior Jaime Heinen-Lugert. Heinen-Lugert won three events – 100 meters, high jump and the triple jump – at the North Dakota East Region boys track and field meet at Fargo South High School.
When it comes to sports, Fargo Davies sophomore twins Aidan and Tristan Hartness have similar tastes.
Both Hartness brothers are three-sport athletes for the Eagles, playing football, hockey and baseball.
In its third year of existence, the Fargo Davies boys hockey team earned the No. 1 seed in the East Region tournament for the first time. Thanks to a big third period on Saturday afternoon at Purpur Arena, the Eagles won’t have to remember that milestone for the wrong reasons.
Grand Forks Red River’s Kaitlin Anderson wasn’t on the court to start the second half. Anderson first had to get a mild asthma attack in check before she could help the Roughriders to a 59-57 Eastern Dakota Conference girls basketball win on Friday at Fargo Davies High School.
For the opening few moments, the Grand Forks Red River boys hockey team didn’t look like the defending North Dakota state champion and the overwhelming favorite to repeat.
Fargo Davies’ second shot on goal served as a wakeup call.
