For much of my life, autumn was near the bottom of the list. It probably really wasn’t so much that I minded fall, it was more that it was more that I dreaded what came after it. I think it was a combination of moving back to the farm and a resolve to live life one day at a time that changed the way I feel about fall.
When you feel that fall nip in the air, it’s time for a nip of homemade apple schnapps. It is a wonderful thing to sip while you’re sitting on the deck, watching the leaves fall, gathered around the fire pit with family and friends.
The changing of the seasons gets lots of people thinking about cleaning and organizing their homes, yards and garages. For many people, fall cleaning focuses on throwing out all the stuff that accumulated in the garage during the summer and washing the windows.
Fall’s my favorite time of year for the colors, the changes in weather and the wardrobe. I’m all about getting the most out of my clothes, which need to be multipurpose, functional and versatile. So, I never fret fall fashion because I’ve found that smaller purchases can easily rejuvenate any outfit from last season.
Fall is finally here, arriving sometime Saturday.
