It cleared just in time here in northern Minnesota for a great eclipse experience. Clouds departed shortly before the moon took its first bite of sun. Nearby, fishermen tossed lines in the water hoping for a good catch. Joking, I asked my friend Jim if he had caught anything. ”Yeah, I got a bite here,” he said, looking up from the telescope.
Millions of Asians watched as a rare “ring of fire” eclipse crossed their skies early today. The annular eclipse, in which the moon passes in front of the sun leaving only a golden ring around its edges, was visible to wide areas across the continent. It will move across the Pacific and also be seen in parts of the western United States.
UND is among 54 colleges, universities and schools across North Dakota and Minnesota that have entered into Yellow Ribbon Program agreements with the Department of Veterans Affairs to improve financial aid for veterans participating in the Post-9/11 GI Bill program.
