After being postponed twice, the murder trial of Rodney Chisholm, the rural Manvel, N.D., man who says he killed his older brother in self defense, begins this morning in state district court in Grand Forks.
A man from rural Manvel, N.D., was charged with murder Thursday after admitting to killing his brother during a fight over a piece of land.
Rodney Chisholm, 45, told investigators he killed his 59-year-old brother, Donald Chisholm, on or about June 24 by either hitting him in the head with a metal pipe, strangling him or a combination of the two, according to a deputy’s report filed in court.
Authorities won’t say if activity is related to disappearance of Manvel man
Wednesday evening, deputies had the road leading to the property blocked off about a half mile in each direction. About 6 p.m., an Altru Ambulance, along with a Sheriff’s Department vehicle and a station wagon, left the property in a caravan.
