Five teens from the Moorhead and Dilworth, Minn., area were taken to the hospital Sunday morning with various stages of frostbite and other injuries after authorities were called to the scene of a rollover in Clay County.
Foul play may be involved with a fire that left two people dead early today at a small apartment complex just east of the Concordia College campus in Moorhead, police said. The two victims have not been positively identified, though police said they appear to be two adults.
Fargo-Moorhead officials expressed a willingness to seek flood control that does not inundate downstream communities, but stressed that the metro area must have protection from a 500-year flood for the good of the entire region.
Fargo Mayor Dennis Walaker said that’s largely because there isn’t a plan on the west side of the Red River that meets federal cost-benefit standards for funding. No federal cash, no project, Walaker said.
The Cass County Commission unanimously approved a resolution on Monday supporting a flood diversion project on the North Dakota side of the Red River, echoing a move recently taken by the county’s joint watershed board.
