DNR CONSERVATION OFFICERS' REPORT: Arson fires, Raw sewage into Rainy River etc. 
Conservation officer Stuart Bensen (Erskine) reports that area lakes are ice free. Anglers have taken to the open water. Floodwaters continue to recede and river levels are near normal.

DNR CONSERVATION OFFICER REPORTS: Fishing and snowmobile enforcement etc. 
Conservation officer Jeremy Woinarowicz (Thief River Falls) checked area elk hunters in the Grygla zone who were lucky enough to fill their unused elk tags.

DNR conservation officers' report: Untagged deer near Wannaska, Deer shiner caught in the field near Blackduck etc. 
DNR conservation officer Ben Huener (Roseau) received information of a vehicle driving around the Wannaska, Minn., area with eight untagged deer in the back. Anybody with information is urged to call Turn in Poachers (TIP) at (800) 652-9093.

DNR conservation officer reports: Trapping season begins, Walleye fishing continues to improve etc. 
Conservation officer Angie Warren (Thief River Falls) monitored small game hunting activity in the Beltrami Island State Forest with hunters commenting on the numerous birds in the area. Area waterfowl numbers appear to be down.

Minnesota conservation officer weekly report: Slow waterfowl opener ... Unconfirmed mountain lion sightings etc. 
CO Stuart Bensen (Erskine) said cougar sighting reports are increasing. So far, no physical evidence has been found in the reported cougar sightings. CO Mike Hruza (Bemidji) investigated a complaint of turkeys being attacked. The complainant believes it was a mountain lion.

Weekly conservation officers' report: Hunting and fishing enforcement, ATV violation in wildlife management area etc. 
Conservation officer Jeff Birchem (Baudette) continues to see an increase in litter since the opening of grouse season on the state forest trails and roads in the Lake of the Woods area.

DNR conservation officer reports: Napping goose hunter, mountain lion killed near Bemidji etc. 
While checking goose hunting activity near Badger, CO Ben Huener (Roseau) was surprised to see a hunter allow a flock of geese to land in his decoys and walk around for a minute before flying away. After approaching the hunter, it was obvious that he had been sleeping when the geese landed.

CO Stuart Bensen (Erskine) said calls regarding mountain lion track sightings continue. So far, all the tracks appear to be left by canines.

Conservation officer Larry Milbridge (Warroad) handled nuisance bear complaints, timber wolf complaints and fielded many calls on upcoming seasons.

CO Stuart Bensen (Erskine) received a call on a pair of mountain lions, a short time later another caller reported two yellow labs running loose. Fall hunting season questions continue to increase.

Conservation officer Jeremy Woinarowicz (Thief River Falls)investigated a gray wolf depredation, and a tip call resulted in a seizure of an illegally taken bobcat.

WEEKLY DNR CONSERVATION OFFICER REPORTS: Walleye overlimit on Lake of the Woods, Red River night patrol etc. 
The men, who were staying in a cabin on Lake of the Woods, were charged with being 17 walleyes over their limit. They stated that they didn’t believe they would be checked again since they had already been checked that day.

Weekly DNR Enforcement report: Deer shootings near Oslo, Pelican shooting on Upper Red Lake etc. 
Anyone with information regarding the shooting and leaving of deer in the Oslo area is requested to call the TIP line (800) 652-9093, as this is not the first instance of wanton waste in the area.
