Grand Forks mall to open early for holiday shopping 
The Columbia Mall in Grand Forks will open at midnight on Black Friday to accommodate early shoppers, mall management said Tuesday.

Just as Cabela’s dramatically changed downtown East Grand Forks and the Scheels superstore in Fargo pulls in visitors like a mini-Mall of America, so, too, will a newly massive Scheels presence in Grand Forks change shopping, traffic and visiting patterns for years to come.

Porpoura Coffee House to close
A coffee shop that’s been in downtown Grand Forks for three years will close its doors today. Sarah Heitkamp, co-owner of the Porpoura Coffee House at 8 S. Third St., said it was a possibility that the owners discussed for months. The final decision happened recently, she said, after a neighboring clothing boutique stepped in with a proposal to expand their business.
