On Thursday, it will be a month to the day since Brian Chorne suffered severe burns to the midsection of his body. Unable to speak since his injuries, Brian remained in critical condition at the Western States Burn Center at North Colorado Medical Center in Greeley as of Monday evening.
Club 64, in an industrial area just north of downtown Denver, opened at 4:20 p.m. on Monday, with some 200 people signed up. The opening came less than 24 hours after organizers announced they would charge a $29.99 admission price for the bring-your-own pot club.
UND will wrap up its first season in the Big Sky Conference this afternoon against a familiar opponent — Northern Colorado. North Dakota doesn’t have much history with the 11 other teams in the league, but Northern Colorado, a former conference opponent in the North Central Conference, is the exception. Nobody knows that more than UND defensive coordinator and associate head coach Mike Mannausau.
Those who have argued for decades that legalizing and taxing weed would be better than a costly, failed U.S. drug war have their chance to prove it, as Colorado and Washington became the first states to allow pot for recreational use.
Frontier Airlines is expanding its service. It has started flying between Denver and Minot, N.D. on certain days of the week, and it plans to expand on its summer service between Denver and Jackson Hole Airport in Wyoming with flights this winter.
