It will be a special Christmas this year for 21 fourth- and fifth-graders from Manvel (N.D.) Elementary School who helped make the North Dakota ornaments that will hang on two very important trees in Washington, D.C.

Artist Paula Kallinen and her students of Holy Family/St. Mary’s Catholic Elementary School in Grand Forks have been selected to create the North Dakota tree ornaments for this year’s National Christmas Tree Lighting event hosted by the National Park Foundation and National Park Service.
