A 5-year-old boy was killed in southeast Minnesota on Thursday evening when he was crushed by a skid-steer loader. Matthew Mallett was riding in the bucket of a loader near Cannon Falls when he fell out and was crushed by the vehicle, according to the Goodhue County Sheriff’s Office.
Residents in roughly two dozen homes in Cannon Falls were asked to evacuate Friday, after heavy rains sent the Cannon River and the Little Cannon River rising, while residents in the southern part of Goodhue County cleaned up damage caused by strong winds.
