Minnesota schools would be forced to adopt policies against bullying under a bill Minnesota representatives passed 72-57 Monday night.
“Every kid deserves to wake up in the morning ... and go to a school they are excited to go to,” Rep. Jim Davnie, DFL-Minneapolis, said.
It does get better for lesbian, gay and bisexual (LGB) youth, with bullying in their early teens fading away as they grow older, according to a study of the name calling, threats and violence faced by teens in England.
It really does get better for gay and bisexual teens when it comes to being bullied, although young gay men have it worse than their lesbian peers, according to the first long-term scientific evidence on how the problem changes over time.
A woman who says her 9-year-old daughter was bullied said Sunday that she took matters into her own hands when she confronted one of her daughter's tormenters on a school bus, but she denied slapping anyone despite being charged with assault.
Students were urged to improve their school’s culture by starting a “chain reaction” with acts of kindness and compassion, as part of an anti-bullying presentation Tuesday at Central Middle School in East Grand Forks.
Silent wars are being waged by women in the workplace every day.
“The tension between women is different than the tension between men or a woman and a man,” said Katherine Crowley, vice president and co-owner of management consulting firm K Squared Enterprises in New York City.
In today’s society and culture, we’re expected to accept everyone’s choices, never voice an opinion about those choices and never discuss what the consequences might be.
If we do, we’re accused of bullying.
