UPDATED 1:21 P.M. A blizzard warning for the Red River Valley has been issued from 6 a.m Christmas Day to noon Saturday. Snow accumulation still forecast to possibly be 12-24 inches in Grand Forks by Saturday. Air travel already being affected.
Eastern ND, western Minnesota remain under a blizzard watch Reconsider any travel plans this weekend to or across western and central North Dakota, the National Weather Service advises. It has declared a blizzard warning for that region, which is expected to get four to eight inches of snow, 30- to 40-mph winds, 45-mph gusts and ultimately sub-zero temperatures and even more frigid wind chills. And all of that nasty is expected to reach the Red River region by later Saturday or very early Sunday, so travel likely will be miserable here, too.
