Blizzard drops heavy snow 
Blizzard Coyote roared into the Red River Valley early Tuesday, bringing wind gusts over 40 mph and heavy snowfall as much of the region came to a halt. Combined with Monday's snow, Grand Forks received 5 inches total. Some places got much more.

Officials release identity of South Dakota woman killed in I-29 collision 
A semi fatally struck a Watertown, S.D., woman and injured Traill County Sheriff Mike Crocker who was helping her on Interstate 29 during Tuesday’s blizzard, the North Dakota Highway Patrol said.

Blizzard Coyote howling over, cold isn't 
UPDATE 2 P.M.All travel advisories have been lifted as of 2 p.m. Interstate 94 from Jamestown to Fargo is now open.
Blizzard Coyote has moved out while bitter cold has settled in. The blizzard warning by the National Weather Service expired at 5 this morning, and a wind chill advisory expired at noon in the Red River Valley. Expect highs to reach somewhere between zero and 5 below zero.

The Otter Tail County Sheriff’s Office has identified a Vergas man who died after a two-vehicle crash Tuesday on a snow-covered county highway. William Day, 60, was pronounced dead upon arrival at St. Mary’s Hospital in Detroit Lakes.

Fargo-area transportation supervisor Bruce Nord said the trucks were traveling south on the interstate. He said the Highway Patrol planned to meet them.

Clay County deputies rescue stranded motorists who went to get milk 
Clay County sheriff's deputies and a snowplow operator had to rescue four people who got stuck on a county road during a trip to buy milk in Tuesday's blizzard. Authorities received a call at 9:10 p.m. that four adults were stranded in a van stuck in a 4-foot-deep snowdrift on County Road 26 about three miles east of Hitterdal, Minn.

Blizzard Coyote shuts down I-29
A blizzard warning took effect at 7 this morning, closing down schools, highways and airports through most of the region. The warning includes areas along and south of a line from Carrington, N.D., to Grand Forks to Thief River Falls.
