Former President Bill Clinton and former Vice President Walter Mondale plan to pay tribute to another Democratic icon, Hubert Humphrey, by dedicating a statue in his honor on the Minnesota Capitol lawn.
The overall cooperation between federal, state and local governments was an asset to all. We were so fortunate during difficult times to have nationwide support to help bring us back to some sense of normalcy.
Former President Clinton’s speech down on the river bank finally helps to bring closure to our flood event from 15 years ago. It was a great speech.
We have come a long way from April 19, 1997, and everyone in Grand Forks can be proud of that.
