Lt. Rahn Farder said the robber, who had his hood pulled down over his head, showed a dark-colored handgun to the front-desk clerk of the Clarion Inn early Sunday. He demanded money, took $400 and fled, police reported.
Local business owner Dan Maier said he’s received “the best Christmas present ever” in the last few days out of one of the worst things that’s ever happened to his store.
“You don’t really see how many people care about certain things until something like that happens,” he said.
UPDATED: 10 p.m.According to a Grand Forks Police Department dispatcher, a male suspect about 6 feet tall robbed the Simonson Station convenience store at 310 Gateway Drive at 9:57 p.m. Saturday. Police say suspect’s description, method similar to two robberies last week in GF.
A Greenbush, Minn., man was arrested early Saturday morning after police officers responded to a report of a man with a knife at a downtown Grand Forks hotel, according to the Grand Forks Police Department.
According to reports, Derek A. Fugleberg, 28, Greenbush, Minn., had entered a vehicle and stolen the keys out of the ignition while two people occupied the car.
