About 20 dogs rescued from Deering, N.D., mobile home 
Authorities say the home apparently was being used as an indoor kennel and that conditions were abysmal, with matted hair, feces and urine everywhere. But the dogs appeared to be in fairly good shape considering the conditions, one official said.

Felines hold 2-to-1 edge over dogs
There are about a half-dozen cats in cages in the reception area of the Circle of Friends Humane Society in Grand Forks. There’s another dozen in the front cat adoption room.
