Walsh County is asking the North Dakota attorney general’s office to investigate allegations that the Adams (N.D.) School District has spent district funds illegally prior to the pending reorganization of the Park River and Adams school districts into a new district.
Santa will be going through four northeastern North Dakota towns with seven volunteers from the Northern Plains Railroad for a Dec. 8 event called “Stuff-a-Caboose.” The Fordville, N.D., -based railroad is collecting donations of children’s toys and sporting equipment.
Voters in Adams, N.D., and Park River, N.D., decided Tuesday to combine their school districts. In another school vote Tuesday, Drayton (N.D.) School District voters approved a $3.15 million bond issue by the narrowest of margins.
A 15-year-old girl injured in an all-terrain vehicle accident in Adams, N.D., has been identified. Kelsey Misialek of Adams was eastbound on a 2005 Bombardier ATV on Third Street when she was clipped by Kim Bylin, 60, of Adams as she attempted to pass his 2010 Ford pickup around 5:30 p.m. Thursday.
Students from Adams, N.D., likely will be heading east for their future schooling.
Adams’ reorganization plan with Park River is still being formulated and the vote on the arrangement is likely six months away, but all signs point to the two Walsh County school districts becoming one beginning with the 2013-14 school year.
First Care Health Center, Park River, N.D., will sponsor free wellness screenings from 8 to 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Farmer’s Union in Lankin, N.D., and from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at Adams Cafe in Adams, N.D. Screenings will include blood glucose, blood pressure and body fat.
