Crookston school officials are struggling to find $1.5 million worth of cuts from the next school year’s budget. Proposals include cutting 14 teaching positions and the dean of students, cutting programs such as girls swimming, softball and speech and increasing class sizes by cutting sections.
The issue of teacher retirement incentives for 21 Crookston teachers may be revisited at a combined meeting of the School Board’s personnel and finance committees at 7 a.m. today in the district office conference room in Crookston.
The Crookston School Board negotiations committee and Superintendent Wayne Gilman came to an agreement this morning on Gilman’s three-year contract.
