The state of auto racing at Red River Valley Speedway is at a crossroads again. On Thursday, local business owner Danny Schatz and the Valley Racing Group announced it will not be renewing its lease agreement with the Red River Valley Fair Association to operate the Red River Valley Speedway.
It was an interesting night — to say the least — for area race car drivers running the NLRA circuit. From NASCAR star Tony Stewart flipping off River Cities Speedway regular Brad Seng after a heat race to drivers racing 30 laps on a survival-of-the-fittest race track, Wednesday night’s program at the Red River Valley Speedway in West Fargo proved to be a highly unusual start to an NLRA swing of races during the next few days.
