N.D. Supreme Court hears Fargo murder appeal 
A man convicted of murder in a Fargo stabbing death was stopped for questioning only because he is black, and he should be granted a new trial, his lawyer told the North Dakota Supreme Court on Wednesday. Elijah Addai, 25, of Fargo, is serving a life prison term for the slaying of David Delonais, 24, Moorhead, who was stabbed during an August 2007 fight in south Fargo that involved several men.

A judge today sentenced 24-year-old Elijah Addai to life in prison with the possibility of parole for his December murder conviction in the August 2007 stabbing death of another man. After 24 hours of deliberations, a Cass County jury convicted Addai, of Fargo, of killing David Delonais, 24.

The prosecution rested its case in the Elijah Addai murder trial about 9:35 this morning and the defense is now presenting evidence. So far five witnesses have testified for the defense, including a fingerprint analyst who said she analyzed a knife found with David Delonais’ blood on it that had a print on it.
