Online hunting license sales upset some N.D. businesses 
The North Dakota Game and Fish Department has gone completely digital when it comes to out-of-state small game licenses this year. Venders will no longer offer the old paper method of licensing for nonresident hunters. “I’m kind of thinking our traffic is going to be way down this year,” said Greg Knutson, owner of Andrus Outdoors in Dickinson.

The Game and Fish Department recently completed its lottery drawing. The remaining licenses will be issued on a first-come, first-served basis. There is no limit to the number of licenses a hunter can receive.

No 'Hunter's Choice' duck hunting regs this fall in N.D. 
Trial bag for pintails, canvasbacks and hen mallards ended last fall; N.D. to finalize regulations in a couple of weeks North Dakota was one of nine states in the Central Flyway to offer Hunter’s Choice regulations the past three seasons as part of a three-year trial. Basically an aggregate bag, Hunter’s Choice allowed hunters to shoot one hen mallard, or one pintail, or one canvasback as part of their five-bird daily limit.

Randy Hiltner, northeastern district fisheries supervisor for the North Dakota Game and Fish Department in Devils Lake, said the department explored using electrofishing gear to stun and remove the fish, but the water’s salinity content is too high to conduct the electricity. Boat access also would have been a problem, he said.
