Sarah Erickson scored two goals, Noora Raty stopped 42 shots and Minnesota beat Wisconsin 4-2 in the NCAA women’s hockey final Sunday in Duluth. Amanda Kessel and Emily West also scored for Minnesota, which won its third national title and first since the 2004-05 season.

There was no letdown this weekend for the UND women’s hockey team. The Sioux beat last-place St. Cloud State 5-1 on Saturday afternoon at the National Hockey Center, finishing off a two-game sweep of a team that has two wins in the last 49 games dating back to the 2009-10 season.

UND WOMEN’S HOCKEY: Wiebe nears 100-point milestone 
Alyssa Wiebe never has played for a Canadian national team, therefore, she didn’t make many headlines when she committed to UND four years ago. She’s never been a candidate for a postseason award in the Western Collegiate Hockey Association, either. But quietly, she’s approaching a milestone that no UND women’s player has ever toppled: 100 points in a Sioux jersey.
