Conrad announces new VA clinic in Devils Lake 
Veterans Administration officials have agreed to open a new clinic in Devils Lake, said Sen. Kent Conrad, D-N.D., Thursday. The Devils Lake clinic will have a part-time doctor, a full-time nurse and “telehealth” services that would allow veterans to have direct access with specialists at the Fargo VA medical center.

California center to be named after N.D. soldier 
An Army Reserve center in Garden Grove, Calif. will bear the name of North Dakota native. Capt. John Paul Gaffaney was fatally injured helping fellow soldiers in the 2009 shootings in Fort Hood, Texas. Sen. Kent Conrad says the center is being named after the Williston native, who was chosen from among 18 other qualified candidates. Conrad says Gaffaney made the ultimate sacrifice in duty to the country he loves.
