ND man sentenced to 54 months on weapons charges 
A North Dakota man has been sentenced to more than four years in prison on illegal weapons charges. David Werkhoven, of Jamestown, was charged in federal court with possession of ammunition by a convicted felon and violation of supervised release. He pleaded guilty in April.

Jamestown jewelry store victim of weekend burglary 
KSJB radio reports that burglars entered the Riddles store early Sunday. Store manager Shirley Jackson says they first broke through a front door of the Buffalo Mall and then smashed through a window to gain entrance to her store, where they shattered eight display cases.

Pedestrian killed on Interstate 94 near Jamestown, N.D. 
The North Dakota Highway Patrol has identified a pedestrian who was struck and killed Saturday night on Interstate 94 near Jamestown. The patrol said Bradley Myhre, 39, of Jamestown, was killed in the accident, which happened just after 10 p.m.

2 sentenced in separate drug cases in N.D. 
A judge in North Dakota has sentenced two people to prison in separate drug cases. The Jamestown Sun reports that 40-year-old Linda Gail Semones had been charged with possessing a controlled substance with the intent to deliver. In another case, 47-year-old Scott Alan Vogel pleaded guilty to two counts of possession of a controlled substance.

Jamestown, N.D., woman convicted in killing files appeal 
A jury in February convicted 22-year-old Janelle Cave on manslaughter and criminal conspiracy charges but acquitted her of murder in the April 2011 death of 18-year-old Abdi Ali Ahmed. He was beaten and stabbed and his body dumped in a ditch near Spiritwood.

Rollover near Jamestown kills Florida man, SD woman 
Authorities say a 51-year-old man from Pensacola, Fla., was driving on U.S. Highway 52 about 7 p.m. Tuesday when the vehicle hit the ditch, struck a culvert, went airborne and rolled upon landing. He died along with a 41-year-old woman from Oacoma, S.D., who was a passenger.

Former ND teacher facing sex charges sentenced 
A former Jamestown teacher accused of sexually assaulting a teenage girl has been sentenced to serve 60 days in jail under a plea agreement with prosecutors. Fifty-four-year-old Richard Laqua pleaded guilty to luring a minor by computer or electronic means, and prosecutors dropped a sexual assault charge.
