Average retail gasoline prices in North Dakota have decreased 3.1 cents per gallon the past week, averaging $3.57 Sunday, according to gasoline price website NorthDakotaGasPrices.com. Nationally, the average has increased 0.5 cents per gallon to $3.57.

Area towns prepare for the coming water 
Neche, N.D., likely will have to wait until next week for the expected overland flooding from the west to arrive. The Pembina County town received a taste of water overtopping roads early Monday, but the flows surprisingly stopped.

The old Drayton Bridge will be blown up this morning. The main truss of the old Red River bridge, which connected N.D. Highway 66 with Minnesota Highway 11, will get the explosive charge at about 8 a.m.

Grand Forks, Drayton fire departments to receive homeland security funding 
The Grand Forks Fire Department will receive $189,000 and the Drayton, N.D., Volunteer Fire Department $184,372 in Homeland Security funds appropriated by Congress, members of the North Dakota congressional delegation announced today.
