Pursuit starts in East Grand Forks, ends in Grand Forks. A driver led police on a chase Thursday through East Grand Forks and into a residential area of Grand Forks, reaching speeds of about 50 mph, authorities said.

Dayton to Wisconsin: You owe us $58 million in tax collections
Democratic Gov. Mark Dayton is drafting a letter demanding Wisconsin hand over tax collections Minnesota says are owed from Wisconsin residents who work in Minnesota. An old deal allowed taxpayers to file in whatever state they live in with the states settling up later, but former Republican Gov. Tim Pawlenty canceled it in 2009, arguing that Minnesota was getting shortchanged. The $58 million represents the final payment from Wisconsin under the old deal and was due Dec. 1, Minnesota officials say.

Grand Forks, Drayton fire departments to receive homeland security funding 
The Grand Forks Fire Department will receive $189,000 and the Drayton, N.D., Volunteer Fire Department $184,372 in Homeland Security funds appropriated by Congress, members of the North Dakota congressional delegation announced today.

Jamestown College athlete paralyzed after pole vaulting accident
Doctors have told James Vollmer his chances of walking again are slim.
The Jamestown College two-sport athlete was paralyzed from the waist down in a pole-vaulting accident in December while preparing for the indoor track and field season. While attempting a vault, he missed the landing mat and his spinal cord was severed.
