Doctors have told James Vollmer his chances of walking again are slim.
The Jamestown College two-sport athlete was paralyzed from the waist down in a pole-vaulting accident in December while preparing for the indoor track and field season. While attempting a vault, he missed the landing mat and his spinal cord was severed.
