DOUG LEIER: The best time is when you have time
“Best time to fish?” I’m the first to admit I’m not a professional angler. When it comes to tips and tactics on how to land a lunker walleye or fill a stringer in short order, I’ve got more questions than answers. So, if you want to learn more about a proposal whose supporters casually discuss the possible layoff of 12,000 public sector workers, read on.

MARILYN HAGERTY: Retailers, restaurants always looking for help
Dress casual, but neat. Update your resume. Learn to sell yourself. This was the advice for jobseekers who attended the Job Fair at the Alerus Center this past Tuesday. I wasn’t exactly looking for a job, but I went over to visit with people hunting and people hiring. I was thinking of how one often leads to the other.
