Whitney Houston's funeral will be held Saturday in the church where she first showcased her singing talents as a child, her family choosing to remember her in a private service rather than in a large event at an arena.
Whitney Houston was under water and apparently unconscious when she was found Saturday in a Beverly Hills hotel bathtub, police said today, as the singer's family prepared to send her body to her native New Jersey for a funeral.

The Grammys got under way on Sunday, with the Recording Academy trying to focus on music's biggest night after of the death of one of music's biggest names — Whitney Houston. But as show time neared, the focus remained on Houston's death.
Investigators worked today to piece together what killed Whitney Houston as the music industry's biggest names prepared for a Grammy Awards show that will be undoubtedly feel as much like a memorial as a celebration.
On Saturday night, hours after Houston's death at the Beverly Hilton Hotel, Davis — Houston's mentor, producer, champion and longtime friend — memorialized her at this year's gala, held downstairs from the same hotel where she died and where her body was being examined by coroner's officials.
Whitney Houston's last days were spent surrounded by family, catching up with old friends and doing a bit of what she was best known for: singing.
Soul singer Kenny Lattimore, who co-hosted the R&B event, said Houston seemed to be having a good time, making her sudden death "such a shock for me." He said Houston didn't appear to be having any issues.
