Minnesota man gets 36 years for fleeing cops, killing 2 
Timothy Gilles is accused of speeding away from St. Cloud police and crashing into a vehicle April 15, 2011. The crash killed 30-year-old Timothy Casanova of Starbuck. His passenger, 22-year-old Megan Thomsen of Glenwood, was pregnant and gave birth after the crash to a baby that died days after his emergency delivery. Thomsen was also injured.

Duluth stabbing suspect arrested in St. Cloud 
A second man wanted in connection with a fatal stabbing in Duluth is now in custody. Police in St. Cloud arrested the 41-year-old man early Wednesday. The St. Cloud Times reports he's in custody in the Benton County Jail on possible charges of intentional second-degree murder and second-degree assault for the murder of 28-year-old Josh Olson.

High school store puts students behind the counter 
It’s a Wednesday morning and the student-run secondhand store at Apollo High School is bustling with shoppers. The store is starting its second full year of operation. It provides work experience and real-life skills for students, said Jen Fox, who teaches the work-experience class at Apollo High School.
The store and Iggy’s coffee shop near the school district offices serve as two work-experience programs for Apollo students. The secondhand store replaced a computer recycling program that ran out of Apollo for two years.

A standoff at a motel on St. Cloud's East Side ended safely tonight after police coaxed a man out of a room there. Street barricades on Lincoln Avenue near the Gateway Motel were lifted shortly after 9 p.m.

St. Cloud bishop apologizes for alleged abuse by ex-deacon in 1990s 
The Roman Catholic bishop of St. Cloud indicates his diocese learned in the 1990s about sexual misconduct allegations against an ex-deacon. A statement from Bishop John Kinney was read at a listening session Monday. He apologized and sought forgiveness, saying he was "ashamed and humiliated" for the victims' sufferings.

Minnesota man indicted in death of former prison cellmate 
Jason Ray Dominguez is accused of shooting Dustin Brown seven times and lighting a fire at the home where he was staying. The Morrison County Attorney's Office says Dominguez told several people that he wanted to kill Brown because he owed him $1,400.

St. Cloud Diocese to air allegations of 1969 sex abuse 
Catholic Church officials will hold a public meeting Sunday to air allegations that a prominent Minnesota child welfare advocate sexually abused two boys around the time he served as a deacon at a St. Cloud church more than 40 years ago. Michael W. Weber has resigned from the board of directors at the Greater Twin Cities United Way and other positions since the Diocese of St. Cloud announced in November it would hold the "listening session."

A St. Cloud real estate agent and a Maple Grove real estate appraiser have pleaded guilty to being involved in a $1.8 million mortgage fraud scheme that involved 28 properties. Ryan Daryl Krutzig, 31, of Maple Grove pleaded guilty Thursday while Jesse Scott Hoffman, 32, of St. Cloud pleaded guilty Sept. 15.
