Flood warning issued for region; I-29 closed Fargo-Hillsboro
UPDATED 5:52 P.M.I-29 between Fargo and Hillsboro, N.D., was closed just before 6 p.m. as the National Weather Service issued a flood warning this afternoon for eastern and central North Dakota and northwest Minnesota because many roads under water. The North Dakota Department of Transportation said that Interstate 29 from exit 69 at Cass County Road 20 onthe north side of Fargo for 31 miles to exit 100 at state Highway 200 three miles south of Hillsboro will be closed until waters recede. Motorists are urged by the North Dakota Department of Transportation and the North Dakota Highway Patrol to drive with caution as flooding continues to affect area highways and interstates.
