MANDAN -- Grafton broke a 1-1 tie with two runs in the sixth inning to beat defending state champion Beulah 3-1 here Saturday afternoon in the semifinals of the North Dakota Class B high school baseball tournament.

PREP CLIPBOARD: Sacred Heart drops two at sections
East Grand Forks Sacred Heart dropped a one-run and two-run game Friday to be knocked out of the Minnesota Section 8A tournament at Kraft Field.
The Eagles lost to Norman County 1-0 and Red Lake County 8-6.

Beulah obviously is not content just being the defending state Class B baseball champion. The Miners beat Thompson 14-3 Thursday in a first-round game at the state tournament. Beulah (19-1) will meet Grafton in tonight’s semifinals.

This time David Myhre held on. The junior from the Northern Lights went into Wednesday’s second and final round of the North Dakota state Class B boys golf state tournament clinging to a one-stroke lead. At the end of the day, he boasted a three-stroke victory and his first state championship.
