SHUTDOWN IN MINNESOTA: 7,700 millionaires at center of debate 
Gov. Mark Dayton wants these 7,700 people making more than $1 million a year to pay higher income taxes, either permanently or as a two-year surcharge. Republican legislative leaders have said no, and some of the state's top earners said in interviews this week that the "tax the rich" plan rings hollow to them.

Mondale-Carlson bipartisan commission suggests shutdown solution

Robert Goosen said he’s been in this situation before. “I guess I’m kind of used to getting laid off,” he said. But this time is different.
