OUR OPINION: North Dakotans ‘rally to UND’s side’ 
“Once it’s clear that the university is in danger, North Dakotans will rally to its side.”
That was the prediction of a Herald editorial back in February.
And what great news it is for UND that once the election was held and the vote was taken, the rally did in fact take place.

Measure 4 dominates draw at polls
Voting stations were buzzing Tuesday as an expected record number of Grand Forks residents lined up to vote in state and local elections. More than 800 people cast their votes during the election’s early voting stage, said Debbie Nelson, the election official for Grand Forks County. Some point to Measure 4 and the fate of the Fighting Sioux nickname for the large turnout.

Pro-nickname group raises questions over use of state funds for retire the UND nickname movement
On the eve of the statewide referendum on UND’s Fighting Sioux nickname, nickname supporters again raised questions concerning the UND Alumni Association’s use of an airplane on May 1 to campaign for retirement of the nickname.
The issue is still under review by police in Grand Forks, but a related complaint and investigation in Bismarck resulted in no charges.

FARGO — Traffic was slow in the Buffalo Wild Wings parking lot Thursday morning, slow to nothing, actually, in terms of people stopping by to visit or sign a petition.
