MARILYN HAGERTY: History of people is found in old patent medicine jars, bottles 
I now pay attention to the claims for medications I see advertised on television during the evening news. They became more interesting after I listened to a lecture on patent medicines of the past. The speaker at the Myra Museum was longtime UND history professor, Gordon Iseminger. His research over the years covers a wide range. One facet is patent medicine, and he recently spoke about how it reflects history of people.
