EGF library sets summer schedule
The East Grand Forks Campbell Library is planning summer activities for youth kindergarten-high school. Storytime for preschool-primary age children and their caregivers will meet at 10 a.m. Tuesdays and Wednesdays and at 7 p.m. Thursdays through June and July.

Grand Forks library gains in popularity
Grand Forks Public Library saw another busy year in 2011 despite what library officials have described as an outdated and cramped building. The number of books and other material checked out soared close to 486,000, which is 12 percent more than four years ago. The number of people attending library programs soared past 8,900, which is 212 percent more.

History buffs seek funds to preserve Carnegie Library's legacy
Jerry Amiot and some of his fellow history buffs have spent the past several days moving thousands of files — old property tax records dating back to the mid-1930s — along with cabinets and other long-forgotten treasures out of the old Carnegie Library. It’s a modest start to what they hope is a successful renovation of the historic structure that was built in 1907-1908, but has been vacant for more than a quarter-century, since a new Crookston Public Library opened in 1984.

East Grand Forks to repair leaky library roof
