A Maddock, N.D., man has pleaded not guilty to attempted murder and aggravated assault in the stabbing of a 16-year-old. James Garber Jr., 21, is accused of stabbing the Lakota, N.D., teen and leaving him bleeding on a basement floor.
When Les Ferry was growing on a farm south of Lakota, N.D., his parents provided room and board for his teachers at the one-room Wamduska School No. 2 near the northeast shore of Stump Lake.
So, it’s only natural, the retired farmer says, that he should restore not only that school but all three one-room schools that served Wamduska Township from the late 1880s to the late 1950s, along with a log cabin built in 1881.
