U.S. and Canadian officials agreed Friday to work together as fast as possible to address quantity and quality issues with water being released from the existing Devils Lake outlet and to establish a basinwide nutrient management plan to improve the water resource quality of both countries.

A South Dakota conservation officer killed a young mountain lion that had killed a deer in a residential yard near Belle Fourche. Bill Eastman with the Game, Fish and Parks Department said the lion also had an injured foot, making it more likely that the animal could pose problems around humans, livestock or pets.

Lake of the WoodsWalleye and sauger action continues to be very strong from Long Point to Zippel Bay in 29 to 32 feet of water. Around Pine Island, 25 to 30 feet has been hot. Farther north, Garden Island and Little Oak Island are giving up limits, and in all areas, jigging and down rigging is working best.
