Sheriff: King ran from jailers after dropping shackles Jason Lee King, 21, had been behind bars in Bemidji since Dec. 30 on charges related to an armed robbery. But on Tuesday he ran from jailers taking him to a medical appointment in Bemidji and was still on the loose Wednesday at 9 p.m.
Jason Ray Dominguez is accused of shooting Dustin Brown seven times and lighting a fire at the home where he was staying. The Morrison County Attorney's Office says Dominguez told several people that he wanted to kill Brown because he owed him $1,400.
A Minnesota Somali woman who wanted to wear a religious head covering while in custody on federal terror charges has been moved to a new jail facility, where she is now allowed to wear her head scarf in certain situations.
Pembina County deputies searching for Glenn Troy Stegman According to Pembina County’s Chief Deputy Sheriff Jeff Osvold, Stegman, 34, was being led back to jail from a bond-reduction hearing about 10:30 a.m. Thursday when he took off running. Stegman still was at large at 7:20 p.m. Thursday.

Some faculty at North Dakota State University want to create a list of students found guilty of cheating. Faculty who support the idea said they have no way of knowing if a student they are dealing with has a history of cheating elsewhere on campus. Nearly two-thirds of faculty who participated in a recent poll said they want NDSU to establish a registry for academic dishonesty.
Organizers of a fundraiser in Wadena are looking for a few good men manly enough to participate in a beauty pageant. And, yes, facial hair is OK. “What we need are a few men who are strong enough to compete like a woman,” said Bonnie Kingsley who is organizing the “Miss Tootsie” pageant in January as a fundraiser for the Miss Wadena Scholarship Pageant.

A man is in custody in Oklahoma in connection with the slaying of a Fargo dentist, police announced Saturday, crediting tips from the public.
Authorities said formal charges will be filed Monday against the 41-year-old man, who was arrested Saturday morning at his home in Oklahoma City. Cass County prosecutor Birch Burdick said the man may face a number of charges.

Traill County, N.D., commissioners don’t seem to be content with listening to the wishes of their constituents.
