14 Minnesota cases now linked to shell eggs; Bemidji cases were in MayState health department spokesman Doug Schultz says the illnesses were reported May 20 as part of an outbreak at a Bemidji restaurant called Mi Rancho. Schultz says the illnesses were traced to shell eggs from Hillandale Farms of New Hampton, Iowa.

Egg recall expands
More than a half-billion eggs have been recalled in the nationwide investigation of a salmonella outbreak that Friday expanded to include a second Iowa farm. The outbreak has already sickened more than 1,000 people and the toll of illnesses is expected to increase.
