Former UND alumni leaders say it’s time to retire nickname Fifteen former presidents of the UND Alumni Association or UND Foundation boards have signed a letter declaring their belief “that the Fighting Sioux nickname must be retired quickly” to avoid seriously damaging the university.

A seventh class of football is coming to Minnesota prep sports.
The Minnesota State High School League's board of directors Thursday approved a recommendation of a football task force to add a seventh class of high school football to begin in the fall of 2012.
Because North Dakota is a small state with limited resources, we need to consider a major change in order to let this “competition at the highest level” take place.
That change is to co-op the athletic programs at UND and North Dakota State University.
